Get the facts on myGovID and RAM
To access our online services you need to use myGovID and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM). MyGovID lets you prove who you are online, and RAM allows you to act on behalf of a business online when the business is linked to your myGovID.
Together, myGovID and RAM provide secure, simple and flexible access to government online services.

Is myGovID different to myGov?
Yes, your myGovID is different to myGov.
Your myGovID is used to you prove who you are and securely log in to our online services and other government online services.
Your myGov account lets you select and link to government online services from the one place.
In future, you’ll be able to use your myGovID to log in to online personal services, such as your myGov account.
Will there be a desktop version of myGovID?
No, a desktop version or browser-based version of myGovID will not be supported. To use myGovID, you will need your own compatible smart device.
MyGovID has been developed to:
- meet modern security standards (for example, multi-factor authentication), and
- use built-in security features in your smart device (such as password, fingerprint and face verification).
Your myGovID belongs to you and cannot be shared.
Can I only access ABR online services on a mobile phone?
You can access ABR online services on any internet connected device – for example a computer or laptop.Your smart device is only used to authenticate your identity when logging in.
When you access ABR online services using your myGovID, you will be prompted to enter your myGovID email address. This will then generate a code, which you’ll need to enter or accept in your myGovID app on your smart device. This will confirm who you are and allow you to access ABR online services.
The myGovID app is compatible with most smart devices using:
- iOS 10 or later on Apple devices
- Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later. This excludes devices that use the Android Go operating system, such as Android One.
Do I need mobile phone reception to use myGovID?
You don’t need mobile phone reception to use myGovID, but you do need internet access (for example, by connecting to wi-fi). You’ll also need internet access to use our online services.
