This is a code that is defined using 2011 SLA Boundaries, Dwellings, Urban and Rural, Land Use, Cadastre, Gazetted Suburbs and Localities, Topography and Shape. The 11 digits code comprises S/T (State & Territory) identifier (1 digit), Mesh Block identifier (10 digits). Mesh Blocks are the smallest geographic region in the Australian Statistical Geographic Standard (ASGS) and form the basis for the larger regions of the ASGS.

This is the 2006 numbering system adopted in the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC). This system is alphanumeric and has a hierarchical structure, where the leading alpha character denotes the industry division. The ANZSIC subdivision, group and class levels are denoted by numeric codes.

This is the description of the 2006 Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) code.

# - Please Note: Field names are not contained in the ABR bulk data files downloaded from the Data Transfer Facility. The field names are provided in SQL (structured query language) code available to assist you in generating the data tables with the correct data structure and field headings.

1. Date fields are supplied in character format (YYYYMMDD). You may need to change the date format to one that suits your applications.

2. The geocode latitude and longitude is provided only for addresses with a geocode reliability code of 2 or 3 to ensure the accuracy of the geocode.

3. There will be no change to the provision of the five digit business industry code in the ‘agency file’. However the four-digit ANZSIC will now be included in the ‘business location’ file.
